Well, first good on you for wearing your masks when you’re out.
Sorry, but your brother is right on this one. You should treat your mask like a biohazard:
- Don’t let it touch anything, especially things like the kitchen counter or coffee table
- Put your cloth mask in the washer, with laundry soap, then the dryer
- Make sure to wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds after handling your mask
If you can’t wash it every time after using it, put it in a paper bag and leave it someplace warm, like your dash board for at least two-days for the virus to become ineffective.
Surgical masks can be reused too but have to stay in the bag for at least seven days.
