May is national mental health month! It is time to spread the word that mental health is something everyone should care about. Raising awareness and education can help reduce stigma, provide support, and advocate for access to care.
Mental health problems are common in at least one out of every five people. These problems can cause people to think, act, and feel differently than they usually do. For a person going through these difficulties, the different feelings are very real and often scary. Mental health is one of our greatest assets. Mind, body, spirit, and context are all connected, requiring harmony and balance to promote health and wellbeing.
What can you do to help raise awareness? You can help spread the word by using the hashtag #IntroMentalHealth. Inspire others to raise awareness and take part in sharing information, resources, and support for mental health conditions. You can also take the stigma free pledge, to help change the way the world sees mental health.
