Only you can decide if you want a relationship. It’s okay to take some time to decide if a relationship is right for you. In making this decision, you might want to consider what you want from a relationship.
Am I ready for a relationship? It’s not unusual to want to develop romantic relationships with guys, girls, or both. You still might be working that out.
I’m attracted. Now what? It’s important to spend time getting to know the person you’re attracted to. If you’re starting to meet people online, or are hanging out with new people in person, think about what personal details you give out. If you do decide to meet someone you met online or who you don’t know well, try to do it in a place where other people are around. It might also be a good idea to have a friend nearby for support. Some people are not always honest and might give you false information or try to hurt you.
How can I start a conversation with someone I like? A good way to open up a conversation and get to know someone better is by asking them open-ended questions that require more than a yes or no answer.
What if my interest isn’t returned? Try to remember the good things you like about yourself, the things you are proud of, and the positive things in your life. If you’re still bummed, try talking to someone you can trust about what happened.
