ASK YOUR RELATIVE QUESTIONS

You have asked a powerful question. When a woman is on her “moon/period” there are a few protocols in place when it comes to ceremony.

  1. A woman cannot make tobacco ties for ceremony.
  2. A woman cannot cook for ceremony.
  3. A woman cannot be around the ceremony.

In Lakota belief a woman is very very powerful during her time. She is encouraged to pray from home. With her power magnified it is believed she has a direct line to creator.

Please keep in mind these are Lakota teachings for Lakota ceremonies. Should you enter a space you’re unsure of please reach out to an elder or someone you feel comfortable with to help you with the teachings.

I hope this is helpful for you.
