ASK YOUR RELATIVE QUESTIONS

How is it that the government doesn’t fulfill there promises on utilities such as water and electric?

Hi there and thanks for writing in!

I wish this was a straightforward question that had a clear answer because that would mean that we could quickly resolve these issues.

In short, these are issues that Indigenous people and their allies have been working on for near a century.

The answer to a very long and complicated question, is that there are many factors that play a role in this; broken treaties, remnants of colonization, tribal sovereignty, government policies, corruption, misallocation of funds, and blatant disregard for basic human rights.

What we can do about this is to make sure and stay current on these affairs and to WRITE or CALL our elected government officials. When they hear and feel the pressure from their voters, they start to listen.

You can find your representatives by typing your zip code into US House of Representatives website of click here.

Thanks for writing in!
