Being healthy and fit has many benefits. This includes preventing chronic diseases and increasing energy levels. However, it can be hard to eat healthier and exercise more if you do not do it often. Maybe you have tried to change your lifestyle drastically. It could be extreme dieting or exercising every day. More often than not, the sudden and excess changes to your life do not work. So how do you do it? In short, you can achieve a healthy life without making huge changes.
For example, if you love eating pizza and hamburgers, you do not need to give them up completely. Instead, try to eat healthy vegetables with your pizza. You could also decrease the number of times you eat junk food, and replace it with healthy snacks such as nuts and berries.
For exercising, you can start off very light such as running or playing sports twice a week. Once you feel more comfortable, you can slowly increase how many times you exercise.
The best way to start is by knowing your bad habits. Once you break down your habits, follow these steps to achieve your goals:
1. List fitness goals that you want to achieve
2. Break down each goal into specific skills
3. Break down each skill into daily practices to do for at least 1 month
Success is all about sticking with it and your desire to achieve your goals. As long as you keep trying, you will succeed! Just make sure not to suddenly make huge changes to your life. It is all about small steps to a better you!
